Christmas Party no-show

This weekend I had my two big Christmas parties (one fannish, and one for my old writing group), and I am not making either of them. I'm a bit bummed about it, so I will probably do a lot of baking: fresh made pizza dough tonight, and some sort of cookies tomorrow. I feel very wimpy at not wanting to drive in the snow, but getting to the grocery store and back was nerve wracking enough, let alone being stuck on the other side of the water if the projected storm arrives.

I think I'll get some holiday music going, and then get started on warm and cheery food. Ohhhh, and maybe a holiday rum-type drink later.

I ain't going anywhere either. I made it to the store and back yesterday, but that's about it. Thought about going out for a bit today and said "...eh, no." Although I have no idea when I'll get out of my house again!

I am going to try walking to the grocery store tomorrow. It's at the bottom of my hill, and I found my old hiking boots today. So it will be cold, and wet, but doable, and I will finally get out of this house.

We missed you! there was much snackage and food, much laughter (Richard Thompson singing a Britney Spears song is just... just... amazing) but given how much snow fell between 4 and 5:30, I don't think you chose badly. East wind pushing ice needles, drifting dry accumulating snow - this stuff has to stop sometime, I hope.

I wish I could have gone, but a 15-20 mph drive the whole way was just too much for me. I will have to give everyone their cards when I see y'all next, whenever we get together in Jan. And I guess I will have to give the white elephants out randomly, somehow. None were brilliant, but they were fun.
