The winners were announced for the 2008 Stargate Music Awards, and Sandy and I were lucky enough to place second for both of the Stargate vids we made this year:

Rasputin placed second in SG-1 Humor

Why Walk When You Can Fly placed second in the SGA Team Category.

This is awesome and wonderful, and thank you to everyone who voted for us. What a great way to end 2008.

I have several cool things that have happened lately. First, a few things of mine have been nominated for some awards. "Beast of Burden" (which I am sticking in the action/adventure category, unless you have a better idea.) was nominated for the [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_awards.

And [livejournal.com profile] sherrold and I have a couple of vids nominated at The Stargate Music Video Awards, one under SGA and one under SG-1.

I also have received Christmas cards from many people (pouncer, sharkie, mercury, Soo--who has an adorable hedgehog, Despina, and Scy). Have I mentioned I love filling out the 'send me a card' requests? I am horrible and don't send them out, but it really makes my day to get a physical letter from someone. It's like tangible evidence that these fannish friendships aren't all in my head, which some days, you know, it kinda seems like.

Plus I got back comments from a first reader on my yuletide story, and it seems like it doesn't completely suck; what's wrong with it is all fixable without having to gut and rewrite. So that's a big "yay!" there for me as well.

Well, it looks like the snow they threatened us with has finally started to fall, so I may be stuck in the house tomorrow. Here's hoping I can put the comments I have to good use.

I know this was announced last month ago, but you know how it goes during holiday writing madness. Thank you to everyone who voted for Laptops in the skiffyawards. I'm just tickled that the story came in third. Thank you so much!

I received notification that Laptops was nominated for a skiffyawards. I had no idea that these awards existed, so a thank you to whoever nominated me. This is so awesome.

I neglected to mention yesterday that the [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_match community has started posting its stories.  Two per day, one angst and one romance, plus a chance to vote on them and guess the author.  Me, I'm playing for team angst this time, so you know I think you should read the angst stories first. *g*

I also wanted to thank whoever it was who nominated both Diablerie and Pier Glass Reflection in the  Stargate Fan Awards.  I'm both a little dazed and a lot excited that someone liked something I wrote enough to nominate it.  I pretty much assume that anything I write is going to be lost in the flood of great fiction in this fandom, so I'm really happy about this.  Thanks.

And last thing, I have to point out the very cool icon that [livejournal.com profile] flambeau made for me.  It's kind-of like Hurt/comfort, what with the gold and the blue. It's lovely.

We had a lot of fun making this vid, but a huge amount of problems outputting it. We need to thank both [livejournal.com profile] killabeez and [livejournal.com profile] z_rayne for their help. (Killa went to extra lengths for us to get the Escapade copy to work, and Zoe ripped the copy from the Escapade DVD and is hosting it on her site, so we don't have to worry about bandwidth.)

In addition, extra thanks to [livejournal.com profile] elynross, [livejournal.com profile] rosawestphalen, and [livejournal.com profile] melina123 for betaing, yet more help, and emotional support.

You can also download the vid via our Clucking Belles Vid Site, plus some of the other vids that we've done.

Feedback of any sort is always appreciated. But please, no public links without permission.
