A/N: This wasn't exactly what I started out to write. Initially, this was supposed to be 5 different drabbles, posted at the end of summer, but instead all the prompts were merged into a single set of three snapshot vignettes. As a whole, this got a lot longer than I expected, and I had to take liberties with some of the prompts. So much thanks to wordwitch, gblvr, indybaggins, wyomingnot, and losyarc for their suggestions, and I hope you enjoy this. Sorry I was so late getting it done. I was very lucky to get sherrold to beta this for me. (Thanks, hon.) Written for the sixth round of atlantis_lvw, where it tied for Most Favorite this round. The theme was 'falling', and we had a 600-word-count limit. In addition, the focus of the story had to be some of the secondary characters.

Okay, I did type up that scene that popped into my head the other day, and just posted it to sga_flashfic. I am feeling much better now.

I wrote 3 drabbles for the mckay_sheppard third drabble tree. All of them proper drabbles of 100 words (more or less, depending on how well I counted). Amazingly, they are thematically linked. Or, considering their theme, maybe not so amazing after all.

In conclusion: 1) wow, do I need a beta and b) I should write more kink.

From the doorway, John could see that Rodney was hooked up to what looked like a hundred different monitors. He was pale and breathing with effort. But when John tried to enter, Carson blocked the way.

"Colonel."

"Carson," John nodded at where Rodney lay on the bed, "what's the mystery? What's happened to Rodney while we were knocked out?"

"I don't know how to put this, but it looks like his brain is gone."

"He's always been a little high-strung--"

Carson shook his head. "It's been removed surgically."

John stared at him. "That's impossible. How could he survive?"

"It's the greatest technical job I've ever seen. Every nerve ending in the brain must've been neatly sealed. Nothing ripped, nothing torn, no bleeding. It's a medical miracle."

"If his brain is missing ...then Rodney is dying." John swallowed.

"No. That incredible Canadian physique hung on until the life-support cycle took over. His body lives, The autonomic functions continue ... but there is no mind."

I finished putting my tiny futurama drabble on my site: Ya Gotta Have Friends. It was written for rosemending as part of the yuletide madness drabblefest on New Years Day. I had a blast doing it, and want to thank her for requesting it. Bender is such a hoot.

Ack! I'm not quite ready. Really, once I saw this icon, I was very inspired. Rather than the 250 words I'd planned on (250! I can do 250!) I maxed out my 750 word limit. Thanks to LAT for the Isn't It Iconic? Challenge
