2006 Bike Ride #19
Sep. 23rd, 2006 04:47 pmRide Length: 27.3 miles
Where: Redmond to Microsoft and Lake Sammamish loop
Start Time: 11:30 (I was late getting going today)
How long: 2.58 by biking computer, and 3.30 (I think) by the clock
No big ride last week due to lots of rainy weather. It looks like fall has arrived, so I'm going to have to snag outdoor rides as I can. It was a beautiful day today, and so even though this was supposed to be a 'rest week' for me, I ended up doing more than I'd planned. To start with, I thought I should do some hills as the last big ride was all along the flat, so I started with climbing the 520 bike trail up to 51st (I think). I nearly turned back then, as I realized I had forgotten the sunscreen--plus I am almost always ready to turn back about 15-20 minutes in-- but decided to do a short loop as I was so close to the top of the hill.
The short loop became a much bigger loop, and I only got lost once. Plus there's a lot of downhill after that climb to the top, and that was a ton of fun.

Date: 2006-09-25 06:49 am (UTC)When I want to get a certain distance, I've been riding back and forth to where I work because I know that's exactly one mile. But I feel a bit silly doing that.
