I have had no time to read LJ, but I had to capture this. As we were leaving Romeo and Juliet tonight, after my son sobbed his heart out over the deaths of everyone, he had a moment of epiphany: "Shakespeare is emo-tastic."

It's true. Shakespeare brings some serious emo to the table.

My daughter, who studied a certain play last year, now refers to it as "Hamlet, Prince of Emo".

I'm going to use that one myself! It's a great summation of the character

We got into a discussion of Angst vs. Emo because of this, and how Emo was about letting people see the emotional pain while Angst was more about hoarding it and keeping it inside. Because Will was doing theater, it's all pretty darn Emo. Books are better at Angst, as are old movies.

That is brilliant. Will was really quite the emo boy.

it was so fun to watch my son get caught up in the story. Before hand, he's restless and fidgeting, but ten minutes in, he's totally enthralled by the story. Emo is pretty timeless.
