Where did the weekend go?
Mar. 11th, 2007 10:43 pmSaturday I went to the local gathering, and consumed many snacks. I also did a long bike ride indoors, as the weather was just crap. Thinking on it, I spent much of the weekend doing biking stuff, as today I went to the local Bike Expo and gathered up all sort of information on possible rides this summer, sports nutrition, and other things.
Sidebar to my own comments--"Sports Nutrition". Do you know how weird that is for me to use that in a sentence that applies to myself? I have never, ever, ever considered myself all that much of an athlete, and yet, there I was at a bike expo listening to a nutritionist talk about eating for long distance rides. Totally wacky.
Oh, and sidebar to the sidebar: sports drinks suck. I tried a couple of new ones, and yes, still icky, and yes, indigestion an hour later.
It looks like both the STP and the RSVP are out this year, as we missed the RSVP sign-up window, and the STP is just too soon for
sherrold to build herself up after the chemo and radiation. We'll probably need something end-of-august or in September, which I am good with. I would love not to be doing 100-180 miles every weekend from April-July. I have some writing I need to do, darn it, and intensive training would eat up that time.
I did pick up a lot of flyers for rides in the area. There's something happening most weekends, a lot of them fund raisers for charities. I've never done that sort of a thing before, but I think it would be okay. Maybe if I just focus on one...
That's about it. I'm still not really tired yet, but I have to get up early with this time change. Maybe Monday I will be more organized.

Date: 2007-03-12 05:59 am (UTC)The only one I can stomach is the white frost Gatorade/Powerade. It's hard to find and doesn't come in powder, so I dilute it 50/50 for rides.
But yeah. Especially once they get warm. Like drinking sweat...I guess because that's what it's supposed to be.
