Rebecca was the author of a best-selling Star Trek: TNG novel (Guises of the Mind) and two Highlander novels (The Path, Shadow of Obsession), along with her original work. She was local to me, but I didn't really know her; she was just a fixture of the local SF community, so I would run into her on occasion. I enjoyed listening to her stories about writing her books, and I remember the fun I had when she and Gillian Horvath played off on one another at one of the Highlander cons I went to. I will miss seeing her around.

I didn't even know she was ill until the 29th, when someone forwarded a message about her to my old SF group's email list. I wasn't even sure it was the right Rebecca Neason, until the news came today that she had passed; the forwarded letter mentioned her five novels, and that's when I knew for certain that it was her. I'm really sorry hon. {{{hugs}}}
