sherrold, her partner, and I all went for a huge bike ride today. (Here's the loop, plus there was about 400 feet of climbing up and down Capital Hill for another 6 miles.) We're planning on doing the Tour de Cure together, the 45-mile route, so this was a great first group ride. I've been worried about group rides--slowing people down, not being able to keep up--and this was a great match. We stopped a lot, to regroup mostly--well, and potty breaks--but we had a lot of fun. While the day started off cloudy with a chance of rain, by the end of the day, even though it was cool the sun was shining. Oh, and I'd never biked across the I-90 bride before, so I felt really accomplished when that part was over and we headed down to Renton. Once there, there was a lot of construction on the route we had, and we ended up getting lost for a few blocks, but we picked the path up pretty quickly again. Seward Park was gorgeous, and the lake beautiful, and after a brief break, it was time for the long climb home.
Now, though, I am exhausted. So it's a long bath, and puttering around for the next couple of hours, then straight to bed.
