Ride Length: 20 miles
Elevation: Not a lot
Where: Sammamish River Trail
Start Time: 11:30 am
End Time: 1:20-ish
How long: Close to 2 hours
On bike time: 1.42, avg speed 11.8 mph
Total Calories: Maybe 1000 calories
First real ride of the year! I have been doing some cycling in the house, but without the STP to train for, I haven't been pushing myself. So I am recommitting to doing the Tour de Cure in mid-may, in support for diabetes research. Since I'm getting a late start, I am only planning on doing the 20 mile ride this year, but it's got a big hill and some steep inclines, so I'm going to have to do some training for it.
If you can contribute, it would be appreciated. I know that times are tough, and people are cutting out or cutting down on their contributions to charities, but whatever you can give would be a big help. Diabetes touches me personally in that my dad is diabetic, and I am hovering around the 'pre-diabetic' line somewhere; one of these years, when my weight is up and I haven't been exercising or eating right, I could easily cross that line. A lot of fans already have.
So if you can spare $5, thank you; any amount helps. And good wishes and positive thoughts are always appreciated.
