Over on montanaharper and greensilver LJs are polls about topping and bottoming in fan fiction. Me, my usual preference is hero-on-the-bottom, except for special cases like Xander and Spike.

(Or Mulder. No matter who he was with, Mulder was always on the bottom.)

Hee. If it's a single sex scene, my preference is for character-I-identify-with on top. If there are more, I prefer it if they switch. *g*

I love, love, love those stories as top-focused stories tend to be more rare. Like maybe (pulling number out of the air) 40% of what's out there. I give top-focused stories a thumb's up.

I meant identification with a character regardless of story POV - I identify with Sheppard a lot, and that's got a lot to do with why I prefer him to top in fic. But yes - top-focused stories are a rare treat. I don't know why fanfic is most often written from the POV of the bottom, but I want more of them!
