Wow, brain dead tonight. This was the longest ride I've gone on in about 20 years, and we had a great time. The interesting thing about this route was it skips all of the major hills (like Juanita hill) on the Lake Washington route, and takes shorter alternatives that 'cut the top off' the big hills. Capital Hill was the only 400-footer that we did this ride; I think the rest of the hills were all 300 feet or less. Even though we were dead tired by the time we were done, we weren't over tired and stupid; it's just that it felt really, really good to lie down on the floor when we reached the house. *g*
sherrold and her partner and I have all signed up for the STP, the Seattle-to-Portland bicycle tour in July. It's 200 miles in 2 days, so we're working on training for it. There's only 1 major hill on that ride too, and the rest of them are also rollers. So right now, we're halfway to the first day of the tour, but we have another 7 weeks to go. And hopefully in that time we can pick up some speed...
