Yesterday  I went out to pull some of the dandelions on the rocky back hill, and  put on gloves and stole one of my husband's long-sleeved flannel shirts as I have issues with nettles and other prickly plants, so I am always on high alert when I do weeding. I kept hearing a rustle in the bushes.  I caught sight of some movement and noticed brown fur scampering away from me, and was all 'Rats!  Ahhhhhh!!! Rats in the rocks.  Ahhhh! '

I decided to move to a different location.

While there, I spied a small brown bunny --not a rat after all.  It passed by me, crossing our sloped yard and down to the flat meadow-like areas near the neighbor's house.

From under the trees, the neighbor's cat took an interest in it as well.  He didn't launch after it, but was obviously keeping an eye out for opportunity.

When a second small brown rabbit joined the first, I decided I was done for the day and distracted the cat with my 'happy to see you voice' while the two rabbits scampered down the drive and out to freedom.

The cat gave me a disgusted look, and headed back to his place. Naturally, I went back inside as the garden is a very busy place.
