I've been out of pocket this week

On Wednesday, my old college roommate was reading from her new Wizards of the Coast novel, City of the Dead.so Lar and I went to see her. She looked great, and there were another couple of people from our old writer's group there, plus some of the new ones she's working with. It's just nice to see your friends doing well, you know?
My dad was down over the weekend, too. We went to the local parade, then out to the Snoqualamie Casino. I was happy as I only lost about $10, while my dad came back at plus $100. His gambling luck has always been better than mine.
Today, after we saw him off to the train station, I talked B & J into a bike ride. We were out for about an hour along the Sammamish River trail, plus we rode back up the hill of death in front of the house. (Well, they rode up. I got about halfway, walked the next quarter, and rode the last quarter there at the end.) sherrold has mentioned that she and B are doing a ride (Cycle the Wave) at the end of September, and asked me to join them. So I'm going to start training again, and am really looking forward to it.
In fannish news, I have a story for kink bingo that needs one paragraph fixed, so yay. I haven't started on the McShep Match yet, but I have been thinking about it. I just need to settle on something soon.
