Internet Access Again! and Smallville: Hug
Feb. 5th, 2002 10:26 pmToday was so busy I ad very little time to check my email; I expected to do it when I got home. Surprise! My ISP was down. So after dinner, I went to a introduction to snowshoing seminar, and then after, tucked my son in bed and read to him for awhile.
Then I watched Smallville. Wow. Just -- wow. I am one happy camper. I have this paired aesthetic for H/c slash guys, the bruisers and the bleeders. Bleeders -- well, they look good in blood. The sharp reds contrast with their pale skin incredibly well; it's almost heraldic in nature. It's the classic eye catching red and white combination, like a stop sign. It grabs and holds your attention--
Well, or at least it does mine. ^_^
Knife wounds, in particular, are great with bleeders. In fact, just the mere mention of Lex with a bleeding knife wound, received at Club Zero, gave me great happiness. I am such a H/c fan.
(Hey, is Club zero a reference to 'Less than Zero'? This is taken from Amazon.com's description of the book:
Set in Los Angeles in the early 1980's, this coolly mesmerizing novel is a raw, powerful portrait of a lost generation who have experienced sex, drugs, and disaffection at too early an age, in a world shaped by casual nihilism, passivity, and too much money a place devoid of feeling or hope.
Hmmm...does this say 'pre-smallville' Lex to anyone other than me? Or is this connection just something that periodically is re-discovered by the show's fans? )
Anyway, other type of guy has a hue to their skin that looks great with bruises. And Clark -- wow -- those bruises looked *great* on him. I would have pegged him for a bleeder, but after that display...I don't think so. For my H/c kink, I am impressed that there is both a bruiser and a bleeder on this show. It appeals to the literary sadist within me.
Just too damn much happiness here. Couple this with all the discussion of friendship, and...I am one easy target. So of course it took me forever to get around to checking my email after that,as I was bouncing around too much. Never did get anything answered. I am so far behind. ^_^
