I got a lovely card from [livejournal.com profile] squashed yesterday, full of the Halloween spirit. I will be spending most of my day locked in the testing room as usual, but to get there, I have to travel down the yellow brick road and through Oz. (And let me tell you, that green glitter sticks to everything.) My son has decided that he is too old for trick-or-treating, so there's a sad milestone that we are passing. (But one that is better for my diet, as I did share his candy with him on occasion.) (Or on more than one occasion.) He is taking his chicken beak nose mask and a bow tie with him, as one of his friends is bringing a costume to school to dress up in and asked him to dress up as well. And E looks totally hysterical in the Mr. Chicken outfit, I have to say.

We get very few trick-or-treaters, but I still need to stop by the store and pick up some candy, just in case they drop by.

Tonight may be a good night to read a scary story or two. I did not get my recs written up this year, but I do have a couple of links on Delicious that I want to point you to, in case you are looking for something to read tonight: Horror and Slow Reveal

The slow reveal may not be actual horror, but it does have that dawning sense of dread/mystery/putting the pieces together that I associate with a good horror story. There are a few stories on both lists, and maybe you should start with those first.

Good Holiday everyone!
