Work got progressively better, even though the testing went much slower than expected due to the large number of problems we found.  So we ended up extending testing into next week, and I and my coworker talked about how we could restructure so that neither of us would feel completely trapped by the project.  So she's taking the 8 am call tomorrow (which means being into the office at 7:30 for set up) and I can take my kid into school, and my husband can get to work after 9 am for the first time since I took on the new project; thus balance will start to be restored to my family schedule, which right now is completely in crisis mode disarray.  50 hour plus weeks do that, and my next goal is to figure out how to cut that down to 45.

Because work was so intense, I was already dragging going into the weekend.  I ushered for the play on Friday after work, then went to a local gathering on Saturday, which was followed by hosting the cast party at our house until 1 am.  I fell into bed, and got up at 8 am, so I could work on getting everything together for the last-minute birthday party for my son at Gameworks. 3 kids were invited; 1 showed on time, 1 brought a friend and an hour late, and 1 thought that we were meeting at our house instead.  So it was utter craziness, and no one had cell phone numbers for anyone else (arrgh.  I did not remember to do this) and I went from merely tired to utterly, utterly drained.  In fact, we have the missing child over here now, having cake and playing video games as he missed the main party, so this has been an incredibly long day.

But tomorrow, I don't have to take the 8 am call, just get Evan to school at 8, which is almost like sleeping in.  I am so done with people right now...

Ack -- too much work, but I'm glad to hear that things are heading in a positive direction. Sounds like you had a crazy weekend as well but go you for rolling with it. Hang in there!

This week is going better, and it sounds like some stuff might slide a bit in the next few weeks, which would give me some breathing room. Yay!
