Wow. We got back from Vancouver early this afternoon, and I have absolutely no energy. I really loved taking my family to the con, and seeing my son's eyes become huge as he looked around at the Stargate set tour. It was a total win everytime he said 'this is cool'!

I'm not going to do a huge con report this time. Most of the panels I attended were by actors with smaller roles, and many of them were SG-1. I missed the hive queen's panel, and I didn't go to the desert auction or the cabaret. Our days consisted of a big morning event that required travel, lunch, a nap, afternoon panels, diner, and hanging out in our room until bed. Who-hoo! We are so gosh-darn exciting!

We did go to Garry Chalk's panel on Friday, and he was a hoot. He was the voice of He-Man, plus he's done a lot of other voice work: transformers, sonic the hedgehog and the like. He was a great story teller, and he had this one about Deck the Halls that was just hysterical. He does a lot of sherrifs, so when he was asked if he wanted to be the sheriff in it, he said great. And then he was asked 'so, how do you feel about a bra and panties'? He had us all rolling by the time he was done. Oh! And he did mention that he's coming back on Eureka, and he talked about what a great show that one was.

He also wanted to know why no over ever mounted a 'Save Colonel Chekov' campaign. *g*

Saturday was the set tour, and it is still totally awesome. We got Martin Gero again, and it was fantastic to see how things had changed from last year to this. We couldn't get to Dr. Weir's office this year as they had things configured for...one of the season 4 eps, and the way it was set up, we couldn't cross a freshly painted area in what was normally the control room to get there.

I noticed new wall sections that were a different layout than I had seen before, and infirmary stuff being moved around. We got to go through the 'travelers' set, and got to see some of the jungle plants that they have been creating as they, too, are getting tired of the same trees all the time. *g* We got to have our photos in the puddlejumper this year, which was awesome, as we had the whole family there.

A couple of tidbits from the rob cooper panel: he's so consumed with the 'Arc of Truth' movie that he's only doing one SGA episode this year, and that one, 'Doppleganger' (dopplegagers?), is already in the can. They shot it first as he has to transition over to the movie now, so they haven't even shot the SGA season opener yet. He also read the first three pages of the script, which sounds totally cool.

The big highlight for me was David's quick visit along with Jane and John, to promote the ADB screening, and he was a total hoot. He would just take off and run with something. He made jokes about his caffeine addiction, and eventually segued into his favorite target, Joe. ('Only because he's no where near here.') Mars was adorable, and the time was too short. I would have loved to have had more of a chance to listen to him. (I think the photos of him and the set tour are 75% of what I took.)

Sunday we took the sky train downtown and walked to the A Dog's Breakfast screening, which was adorable. It was really my son's speed, too, with lots of praftfalls and comedy along with 'Are You Afraid Of The Dark' level horror. David has the best girly scream, and his eyes really are just that blue.

Oh, and for those that have speculated--Jane was wearing a really nice maternity shirt. I'd say she's just started showing.

The furlings were sweet for their little section, and totally bowled over at being in Stargate; it is the biggest thing they have ever done in their careers. I watched a little of Michael Shanks Q&A--totally hot in black leather coat and bangs from the 24 hair style-- but I couldn't take the crowd for long. Ev really wanted his autograph, so we did the line after; Michael really seemed to like seeing a mom and her son getting autographs together.

Rachel and Tori's panel was packed too, and one of the coolest things was that one of the fans had made her own banto sticks, so Rachel walked through the fight choreography for next week's scene. She must be fighting off like 7 guys in the infirmary or something, and watching her work was just gorgeous. And Tori was lovely! She is so fun, and her eyes are shiny-sharp and mischievous. She complemented me on my shirt later.

Okay, yeah. Not as much content as my mind was too filled with the pretty. I had a spectacular time.

AH HA! I looked at the pics from Peg2 and thought "Yep. The speculators were right, she sure looks pregnant," and I'm wrong about these things something like 98% of the time, but I"m glad this was the small percentage when my guess was right *G*. It sounds like you had a great time *G*.

Hey! Didn't see you to say goodbye, so figured I would do it here instead. It still counts, because I am still at the airport (stupid delayed flight!)

The set visit really is so cool, isn't it? I am totally in agreement there.

Lovely to see you again. Am plotting a trip to Seattle sometime, so hopefully see you then soon.

I'm not 100% sure, as I also suck at this game, but it did look like a maternity shirt to me, Empire waist and all. And the con was a lot of fun, but I think 2 years is enough for me. Next year, I think we'll do something else.

It was a lot of fun. If you get a chance to do the vancouver con, jump at it as the set tour is fantastic.

I made myself put the camera down after ten minutes or so when David was on stage, as he looked so fabulous in person and it got lost when I was focusing on my little camera. At one point, after DH has riffed about Divas, John asked him 'Did you dress like one?' And both he and Jane simultanously said 'It was the eighties.' Then he looked at her open mouthed. 'You like the eighties? I like the eighties. We should...get together sometime.' So hysterical.

That's because we suck. Lar wanted to go last night, but because I wanted to stay for rachel and tori, we headed out by 11:00 am this morning. It was great to see you, and I wish I could have spent more time with you and [livejournal.com profile] z_rayne. In a way, while we had a lot of fun, it was weird to have my family at a con. *g*

Yes! Yes! Come to Seattle. I will make sure I can take time off to come see you if you do. It would be fun.

The set tour is the real reason to go to the con in vancouver. It is so cool to see all the behind the scenes stuff.

Oh, very cool. I'm glad you all had a good time. Taking your son to the con is *really* cool. Major mom points :)

(the idea of baby!hewlett is both cute and terrifying, and in either case, blond)

If I had more brain, I would remember all of the cute stories. But the little squeeing noises I make inside of my brain tend to make it hard to remember.

Thanks! It was fun, and honestly, I'm not sure how many more years of 'mom is cool enough to hang out with' we are destined to have. *g*

And baby!hewlett would be totally cute! And very, very blond.

100% sure. She was holding the shirt tighter at the second screening, and I am completely convinced.
