We arrived home from Escapade near 11pm on Sunday, and I took today off to lounge around and recover. I had an absolutely fabulous time, with very few panels and many wonderful people. The thing I missed the most as an SGA fan was that without an episode showing, there was no spontaneous gathering point, so no big gathering happened. But I still managed to connect with a lot of folks, even if it was only for a sentence or two.

My favorite panel was [livejournal.com profile] smallbeer and [livejournal.com profile] arallara's panel on "SGA: The Meta that Dare Not Speak Its Name", which was a total blast; the premise was how the white and nerdy male SGA writers managed to give use so much queer subtext, comparing our theorized 'authorial intent' with how it's parsed by a slash fan. From Mary Sue Rodney McKay's relationship with women to how the military is fetishized in the show, it was all a heck of a lot of fun.

I'm hoping to get a con report written, but honestly, probably not. Writing it means admitting that the con is over, and at the moment, I am still enjoying my post-con high. Maybe once I start to crash...

Oh, thank you again, for your kind words here and for being so fabulous in the panel! I would have loved to have an SGA party--I wish I'd made time to do more than chat with you for a couple minutes!--so I think that should absolutely be on the agenda for next year.

Also, yes, thanks to you and your panel I'm going to have to go back and rewatch all the episodes with John's actual room on Atlantis and analyze in much greater detail. *sigh* Such a hardship. ;-)

LOL! Here is the link to thegrrrl's journal, as she was the one who capped the sparkly curtains.
