Checking in since a couple of people have asked how I was, given that I don't talk on the journals so much anymore. My vacation cruise to Alaska was fabulous! Our cruise ship now holds the record for getting the closest to south sawyer glacier of any ship, and I never knew that glaciers were such a vivid blue! I have one photo of one of the icebergs that looks like a giant blue fish. :) It was great to spend time with my dad and my brother too, though I was ready to scream at my dad a couple of times; sometimes the two of us just butt heads, you know? We both slept like rocks the day between arriving back in Seattle and when I had to have him at the train station the next day. The trip tired both of us out.
When I got back, that was when I heard about Sandy. I am coping, but sad -- really very sad -- and pretty avoidant because of that. So if you're looking to hear back from me, I'm not doing too well at the whole email thing. I'm spending my time in books, with my family, watching reality tv, or trying to reclaim my garden. I'm also playing stupid facebook games at times.
Know that I love you all, and fandom really is one of my most favorite places. I hope to be back when I am not so overwhelmed.
For those paying attention, that's two years and counting, but I have hopes for the fall TV season.
