Is there a domestic housecat that looks like a lynx, but doesn't have the tufts on its ears? One just walked through our backyard, and my googlefu has failed, but it was a cool looking thing.
We thought about that too, but the markings and the chin looked more lynx-like than I'd expect from that breed. And Jo (below) pointed me toward a breed where some of the images look exactly like what I remember seeing, so I think it might be a pixie-bob.
Wow! I think you've hit it. Some of the pictures for the pixie-bob look exactly like what I remember seeing. Hopefully it will come back in daylight so I can tell for certain.
