Dance, Hamster, Dance
Mar. 23rd, 2009 10:11 pmI am very out of practice at writing posts! I've pulled out of the morass of bleakness that was my life at the end of Feb/first part of the month, but I have no idea how to get myself conversing again. I did do some work on my steampunk SGA novel for fic finishing, but I'm finding I have less time than I thought I would.
Maybe I am watching too much tv.
Cop shows are my life right now. I am watching NCIS and the Mentalist, plus I have some of Castle taped; it's all investigation, all the time at the moment, which is really weird after years of feasting on fantasy and SF. I have kings on the hard drive too, which is close cousins with alternate history, so I'm counting it in the speculative fiction set--which is the only speculative fiction I'm watching. I bailed on Dollhouse, and I still haven't watched more than the first episode of Merlin; I figure I'll watch it once it starts airing here this summer. A whole year of the fandom will have passed by me, and the 'classics' of the fandom will be set in stone....and I think my brain is now all tangled up in sword-in-the-stone imagery, so I'd best be moving on.
Cop shows. Who knew?
