Healing Station Argh. by [livejournal.com profile] toft_froggy
Hit my embarassment squick with the force of a thousand drones. Could not back out of this story fast enough. Those of you who got through it? Wow, you are better women than I.

Broken Wings Universe by [livejournal.com profile] synecdochic
Deeply, deeply in love with this and still trying to get my head out of JD-Jack O'Neill space. Long, plotty, with incredible detail and great characterization. Jack was my favorite SG-1 character, and seeing him through the eyes of his clone JD is fascinating, and I loved watching how JD put a life together after walking away from the life the SGC had given him. Plus it has Cam, and I adore Cam; watching him deal with not bouncing completely back after the crash made my heart ache at times. I forgive him for having the most supportive family ever, because he so fucking needed it. So it's no wonder that having JD and Cam in a relationship really worked for me, and then we get to the action plot...

I really recommend this even if you're a slow reader like me. It'll take a while to get through, but the universe and game playing is so worth it.

A Clear and Different Light by [livejournal.com profile] friendshipper and [livejournal.com profile] naye
This was the first of the SGA Big Bang stories, and I absolutely adored it. It's clever and fun, completely cracked out, yet the character emotions ring true. Plus once you get beyond the initial set-up--Rodney's been raised by whales, John is a black ops mage, Teyla's a rune mage, while Ronon a winged warrior--the authors do an excellent job of making the whole story incredibly creepy--the wraith act a bit like the goa'uld of SG-1, slipping inside of people and possessing them, but with the wraith, it goes even beyond death. ::shiver:: It's team!fic, with a side of gentle John/Rodney slash, and fab world building. Just awesome.
