Ride Length: 25 miles
Where: My house around Lake Sammamish to Marymoor, the Flying Wheels quarter century.
Start Time: 9:30 am-ish (I had to watch SGA first!!)
How long: 3 hours-ish by biking computer, 3.5 by the clock

Flying Wheels is long over, but their routes are up on their site and easy to print-out and use. I had toyed with the idea of doing the 25-mile loop when it was held in June, but never got around to signing up and doing it. Now I'm glad I didn't as it would have been too much for me then; despite what they say about it being no major climbs just rolling hills. Great for the beginner and younger riders, there is a lot of uphill in it--just not a lot of steep grades. I did a lot better than I expected to--I only walked on the 2 longer hills, and rested on 2 of the shorter ones--and it took me less effort than I imagined. I am obviously getting better about hill climbing--I can feel it when I ride and I can see my times getting better--but I still have this image of myself as being utterly out of shape.

I also abandoned the camelback for this ride, taking along a lot of water bottles as my neck was starting to hurt after the longer riders and I wondered if that might be a part of it. I also tried out my new SPF shirt, from Title Ninewhich was great. It dried quickly when I stopped, so I never felt sopping wet, the way I did with a T-Shirt. The downside was I had to wear an exercise bra with the darn thing, and the one I have that fits is like super supporting; nothing moves with it ever, and breathing feels a little tight at times. *g* But it worked fine, and my shoulders didn't hurt by the end, so I give it a thumbs up.

Needless to say, I am hopelessly behind on LJ stuff, as I am picking up [livejournal.com profile] sherrold and heading to a bash. Maybe tomorrow, though. I need to write.

Hey -- not only are you amazing! -- you were going to tell me the name/brand of your bra; I'm always looking for good exercise types.

Yeah

Title Nine ROCKS. I walk into that store and I want everything, just everything.

Bizarrely, I got this one at Victoria's Secret. Jodi dragged me to a sale there, and I could never quite believe that it actually fit--and yet, it does. Weird, huh?
