Wow, so Laura47 is your nickname, and your RL friends know you by that. You can always do a cleverly disguised name like Laura1047 or or 47Lauras or Lara47 or LauraT47--your RL friends aren't going to go looking for that. And the employers won't know to go looking for any of those either. So you can still keep the name, modified slightly, and the fannish association.
