Random Stuff about the Day
May. 23rd, 2009 09:50 pmI'm needing to get to bed, but I have been running for the last couple of days, and have finally been able to wind down a bit. Still not quite ready for bed, but hopefully soon.
My dad called us last night, since I'd told him to call me when he was anxious or depressed over this stuff with my mom, and we had a bit of a chat. Later, we went and saw Terminator Salvation, which was a nice distraction for me.
This morning's call from my dad was a lot better, and he's thinking of volunteering somewhere, so he can have something else to focus on right now. After, I got my act together enough to spring for breakfast pastries, and then I went and got my hair colored. I really like how it turned out, but I swear my stylist is a Ferengi. She upsells me all the time, and talks to me about what a good deal she is giving me, with a 'special discount'.
But man, my hair looks great.
Once my hair was done, I headed back home and picked up Lar and Ev for a small hike. I think we did 2.5 - 3 miles (it was about an hour and fifteen minutes) around some of the Feral Squirrel Park trails (okay, the Farrel McWhirter Park trails) It's pretty flat-- maybe 250 ft during the route--and pretty shaded, except for where the perimeter trail goes under the power lines. So it was a really nice outing before the main heat of the day.
Then it was lunch and shopping: new jeans for ev and groceries for the family; I got home in time to start dinner, too.
At that point, I said enough. I grabbed a soda and mindlessly played video games until it was time to eat; dinner was then followed by "Mystery, Alaska".
I'm still coughing because my allergies still haven't settled down yet; I'm hoping that my nose will stop running soon, so I'll be able to breathe again.
Needless to say, I am wiped.
