Ripped right out of ST:TOS - Rodney's Brain

From the doorway, John could see that Rodney was hooked up to what looked like a hundred different monitors. He was pale and breathing with effort. But when John tried to enter, Carson blocked the way.

"Colonel."

"Carson," John nodded at where Rodney lay on the bed, "what's the mystery? What's happened to Rodney while we were knocked out?"

"I don't know how to put this, but it looks like his brain is gone."

"He's always been a little high-strung--"

Carson shook his head. "It's been removed surgically."

John stared at him. "That's impossible. How could he survive?"

"It's the greatest technical job I've ever seen. Every nerve ending in the brain must've been neatly sealed. Nothing ripped, nothing torn, no bleeding. It's a medical miracle."

"If his brain is missing ...then Rodney is dying." John swallowed.

"No. That incredible Canadian physique hung on until the life-support cycle took over. His body lives, The autonomic functions continue ... but there is no mind."

Yeah, okay, I'll be going now.

*chokes* Oh my god. That was just...so wrong. (Do you grow your own high-grade weed in your garden?)

I know it's wrong. So so wrong. But oh my god, it works.

<deadpan>It's uncanny.</deadpan>

So hey, what is your icon from? I don't recognize it.

The cap for genius at work is from seige III, when he lays down on the floor. The icon was done by [livejournal.com profile] starbuck92

Ah. I don't remember that one, but yay! That is how my genius works too. *nods*

Missing brain!

eeepppp....NONONO. That is evil. YOU are evil. Return that brain to him, right this minute or face the wrath of millions of fan gurlz.
Well, one anyway.
Snerk.
Evil evil evil.

I'd have to get to the 'bringers of pain and delight' to to that. And I think I would have a seizure and be unable to write. 'Rodney's Brain' is just so wrong.

... I kinda hate you a little.

::giggles wildly::

But at least John can still have sex with that incredible Canadian physique.

LOL! Oh, man. 'incredible Canadian physique' just makes me laugh. And it's not getting any less funny.

[identity profile] mmmchelle.livejournal.com 2005-11-27 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I can understand that.

It makes me want to write a story in which all of the women on Atlantis start throwing themselves at Rodney, and one of them proclaims that she can't resist his "incredible Canadian physique."

[identity profile] wickedwords.livejournal.com 2005-11-27 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you should. It would be fun! Funny! Somthing-y. that "incredible Canadian physique" is made to be shared.

Maybe once my mind returns from dealing with That Fic. I'm only two, maybe three scenes from a full draft and then I'll send it to you for criticism.

Wow, do I know that feeling. I just finished up the draft of the harlequin AU that I was doing, and at the moment, I know 1) the setting sucks. 2) the history is unclear. 3) the plot is shaky and contrived. 4) the sex scene needs work. and 5) the begining and ending are sketchy, not arty. But I think it's got enough shape to talk about, and my god, I only have 2 weeks to finish it in!

So, uh, yeah. Insane. that would be me.

[identity profile] mmmchelle.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
((sends sympathy))

I didn't do anything with a deadline this year because with three jobs and a kid I barely have time to think. Writing something for someone else would have overwhelmed me.

I'm sure the story will be marvelous when you're done with it.

I'm at the protective place with That Fic. I don't want to show it to anyone, because I have so much invested in it. Even sending it to Grrrl was nervewracking and I show her in progress stuff all the time.

I want criticism, because I want it to be the best story I can possibly make it, but at the same time I'm doing the protective thing. It's my baby and I need to keep it safe.

I am feeling very much the same way. I just finished it, why would I want to send it out and see how much it really, really sucks? *sigh* Writers. *g*

I really wish I had more time with it too. because then I could be as detailed as I want, instead of repeating 'just get it done, just get it done and make it readable, just get it done.' It's in no way canonical, or else I would send it to you, but I wasn't sure how you felt about extreme!AUs.

[identity profile] mmmchelle.livejournal.com 2005-12-07 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Because of that whole comments problem I just got this, but I wanted to tell you, for the record, that I will read anything of yours, even an extreme AU.

I hope things are going well with your parents.
