Update on Me

My contract with my financial services employer ended with the start of the new year.  Since that time, I have had fuck-all motivation to find myself new employment.  First, I attended a lot of conventions.  A lot for me, I should say.  I think I had one or two a month there for awhile. There's been a ton of family stuff -- like, hey!  My son graduated from college with a degree in Economics. Go Him! -- and my dad has had another heart incident, so he's been in and out of the hospital a lot.  We also spent the last week in April with Lar's family in Greenfield, MA, attending to his mom's memorial and a massive family reunion.  (Massive for me, anyway.  50+ people, of which 15 were his sister's family, children, and grand children, all of whom traveled from Washington state as one giant, amorphous blob.  We all stayed in different AirBnB houses together.)

Now I get to be home for a bit, at least I hope so. My dad has asked us to come down for memorial day, so I have booked us another house on AirBnB to see him.  And though I never trained beyond biking in-house, I did do the 12 mile tour de cure last weekend, which was nice.  I'm going to spend some time getting the house cleaned up to livable (yay, robot vacuum!) and then do some yard work, but first, the rental house water heater just broke and flooded their garage, so I guess I better go deal with that...

Hope y'all are having a good day.

Hey, having a rental house counts as gainful employment from where I'm sitting, especially if you have to deal with any issues! <3 (It sounds massive to me, too. ;) )

Breaks are good and neccesary!

Congrats on the race as well, I need to get my bike to the shop or my Dad now that he is retired to get it in road worthy condition. Last three summers have been very busy and I haven't had a chance to bike.
